YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western Volleyball team continued their dominance over the College of Southern Nevada to begin ACCAC play. Arizona Western won in straight sets Wednesday night at "The House" 25-19, 25-14, 25-15 to improve to 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Pacing the Lady Matadors was Blanca Terminel Lopez who finished with 10 kills, three service aces and three blocks. Andrea Krgovic added 11 assists and four digs while Nehir Erimez pitched in with 13 assists and three digs.

"We excited that conference play has started, and we are excited that we are now 1-0," AWC Head Coach Loranye Chandler said. "It was important for the girls to be able to see what a team looks like before turning around and playing them two more times. Felt like they did a good job with the new line up and making sure they did the little things right."

Arizona Western was pleasantly surprised by the fan turnout, especially the students who helped add a little extra charge for the Lady Matadors.

"Anytime we can get students out, that's big for us," Chandler said. "No matter the age limit on the kiddos if we can get everybody out supporting, the girls just feed off of that, it was awesome."

Arizona Western won't have much time to relish the win as they hit the road on Friday for a trip to Phoenix College for a non-conference showdown.
