Scottsdale Stuns #19 AWC in OT

YUMA, Ariz---Despite a halftime lead, the #19 Arizona Western Matadors (5-1-0 overall) ceded a late goal, before falling 2-1 to the Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes (5-0-0 overall) on a golden goal in a non-conference showcase of two previously unbeaten ACCAC schools.

While Scottsdale controlled possession in the early going, the Matadors came away with the best early chances, sailing a pair of shots over the cross bar.

PRESCOTT, Ariz---Freshmen Jaeda Centeno and Julia Ridder each added to their incredible resumes in just their 5th collegiate games as the #20 Arizona Western Matadors (5-0-0 overall) defeated the Yavapai RoughRiders (3-4-0 overall) 3-0 in the first ever  meeting between the programs Saturday night at Ken Lindley Field.

Rivas Return and Lirios' Double Moves Mats Past Mesa, 4-0

YUMA, Ariz---After missing a full year due to injury, Karen Rivas made the most immediate of impacts in the #20 Arizona Western Matadors (4-0-0 overall) 4-0 win over the Mesa Thunderbirds (1-3-0 overall) Tuesday night at the Matador Soccer Field.

The Matadors once again flexed their offensive firepower with Lirios netting her second straight double, including the opening salvo with a blast from the top of the '18, not even five minutes into the match.

Lirios Strikes Twice as Matadors Defeat Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz--- Two crosses that turned into a pair of goals turned into a big road win against a conference opponent, albeit a non-conference match, as the (RV) Arizona Western Matadors (3-0-0 overall) shut out the (#2 DII) Phoenix College Bears (0-2-0 overall) Tuesday night at Hogan Field.

Lirios, the freshman striker from Spain, cashed in both of the Matadors crosses for her second and third goals of the season, giving AWC an equal number of wins.
