Utku inks with Flagler College

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College Lady Matadors women's basketball player Buse Utku has signed a letter of intent to continue her collegiate career at Flagler College. 

The guard from Ankara, Turkey helped lead the Lady Matadors to their second-ever appearance in the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Championship, helping the Lady Matadors to the elite eight,

Utku started all 33 games played for the Lady Matadors this past season, averaging 6.3 points per game while leading the team with 3.0 assists per game and averaging just over one steal per contest.

The guard scored a season-high 15 points in a 70-57 win vs Southern Nevada on November 10, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the three-point line.

 Utku played in 77 career games for the Lady Matadors, posting a career-best 9.4 points per game average as a freshman in the 2019-20 season. Utku posted her career-high on February 12, 2020, scoring 21 points at South Mountain.

Flagler College is an NCAA DII institution located in St. Augustine, Fla. The Saints compete in the Peach Belt Conference and are coming off a quarterfinals appearance in the Peach Belt Conference tournament.
