Da Silva scores 22 in Matadors' 61-59 loss at Pima

YUMA, AZ - Teresa Da Silva scored a season-high 22 points as the Arizona Western Matadors (4-1, 0-1) fell 61-59 to Pima (5-0) on Wednesday evening in Tucson. 

Da Silva scored in double-figures for the fourth time in five games this season, scoring 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting while also grabbing four rebounds in the loss. Da Silva was one of two Matadors to finish in double-figures as Alliance Ndiba finished the game with 14 points and was the game's leading rebounder, grabbing a career-best 24 rebounds.

The Matadors were outscored 20-10 in the third quarter, falling behind 46-38 entering the fourth quarter. Arizona Western outscored the Aztecs 21-15 in the fourth quarter but fell short, losing its' first game of the season, 61-59.

Arizona Western returns home to open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, November 20, hosting Eastern Arizona at 2:00 pm.
