Da Silva leads Matadors to 69-40 win over Pima

YUMA, AZ – The Arizona Western Matadors (16-1, 6-1) never trailed on Wednesday evening, beating Pima (12-6, 5-4) 69-40 to win their 12th game in a row.

Taresa Da Silva used a 10 point second-quarter to score a game-high 20 points, finishing the game as one of two Matadors to score in double-figures.

The Matadors used an 11-0 run in the first quarter and a 12-0 run in the second quarter to take a 29-13 lead at the half.

Matadors break century mark in 102-49 win over Chandler-Gilbert

YUMA, AZ – The Arizona Western Matadors (15-1, 5-1) used a strong first quarter to beat Chandler-Gilbert (6-10, 2-5) 102-49 on Wednesday night.

Alliance Ndiba tied her career-high, scoring 27 points to lead all scorers and grabbing a game-high 19 rebounds in a double-double to help the Matadors to their 11th consecutive win.

Ndiba named ACCAC DI Women's Basketball Player of the Week

YUMA, AZ - Arizona Western Matadors women's basketball player Alliance Ndiba was named the ACCAC DI Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the weeks of December 20-January 2. 

Ndiba finished the three-game week, averaging 14.0 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per contest while blocking 14 shots.

Bryan leads Mats to 60-54 win over Frank Phillips

TUCSON, AZ – The Arizona Western Matadors (14-1) erased a six-point third-quarter deficit to beat Frank Phillips (10-6) 60-54 on Saturday afternoon.

Christeina Bryan scored a career-high 19 points in the win as Alliance Ndiba recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds while blocking eight shots in the win.

Defense helps Matadors win ninth straight, holding off Snow 65-52

TUCSON, AZ – The Arizona Western Matadors (13-1) won their ninth consecutive game, beating Snow College (6-9) 65-52 on Friday afternoon at the Bruce Fleck Classic at Pima Community College.

For the second consecutive game, the Matadors had three players score in double-figures, once again led by Alliance Ndiba who led all scorers with 12 points, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double.
