North Las Vegas, NV---The long road trip cause the Arizona Western Lady Matadors to stumble for the second straight match in a four set loss to the College of Southern Idaho Saturday morning at the CSN Invitational.
The Matadors took the opening set handily 25-17, but CSI took the final three sets to earn the match victory.
12 service errors piled up at the wrong times as two of CSI’s winning sets came in extra points.
The Matadors narrowly missed a 2-0 set lead in the second, losing 27-25. After CSI won set three 25-18, the Matadors tried to extend the match in the fourth before falling 26-24.
Melissa Garciglia Banuelos led the Matadors with a season best 25 kills but the errors proved to be too much to overcome as AWC committed 37 all-together.
The Matadors wrap up the tournament Saturday afternoon against the fourth ranked Miami Dade Sharks.
