Lady Mats triumph over Scottsdale in 4 sets

YUMA, Arizona--- The Arizona Western College Matador Volleyball team (16-6 overall, 10-2 ACCAC) is now one step closer to the ACCAC Conference Championship with their 3-1 win against Scottsdale Community College (15-5 overall, 10-4 ACCAC) on Wednesday night at the House.
After dropping the first set (21-25), the team dug in and made some notable comebacks throughout the night to earn three straight set victories (25-22, 25-23, 25-11.)
Tylor Iosua finished the match with 12 kills and Daniela Jimenez followed with 11 kills. Jerica Vele also did a solid job maintaining the service line with four aces for the night.
The team will travel to Prescott next to face off against Yavapai at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at Walraven Gymnasium in Prescott.
Next week on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the Lady Mats will host the NJCAA Region I Playoff game at 7 p.m. at the House. The match will be broadcast on AWC TV and livestreamed on azwestern.edu/live. Tickets will be $5 at the door and $3 for students. No passes will be accepted.
