YUMA, Ariz. - The #20 ranked Arizona Western College Volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak on Friday night with a four-set victory (25-10,25-17, 23-25, 25-15) over ACCAC rival Yavapai. The Lady Matadors used solid play throughout to improve to 9-3 on the season and improve to 3-1 in conference play.

"We're always happy to have a comeback, that's what we were expecting," AWC Head Coach Lorayne Chandler said. "We talked with the girls ahead of this match to make sure we had the focus on a comeback. We would've liked to clean up that third set, but it gave the girls an opportunity to get some more play and get a few more reps in along the way."

Coach Chandler said the win was a team effort.

"I think our middles are doing a very good job of making themselves available," Chandler said. "Our libero does a really great job with keeping us in system. For the most part our serves are really competitive so, we like to be able to see that. We work very hard on the missed serves and limit those as often as we can."

It's a quick turnaround for the Lady Matadors as they'll be back in action on Saturday afternoon against Yavapai. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in "The House."
