Trivino and Juliao garner NJCAA DI Volleyball All-American honors
Arizona Western Lady Matadors Volleyball sophomores Evelyn Trivino and Amanda Juliao were both named to NJCAA DI Volleyball teams after leading the Lady Matadors to a Region I title this past fall.
Trivino earned First Team All-American honors in her sophomore season, recording a career-best 927 assists, 26th most in the country, averaging 8.66 assists per set, good for 19th best average in NJCAA DI Volleyball.
The setter from Colombia set a career-high with 51 assists in a 3-1 win at Mesa on August 23, one of two 50+ assists performances this season. In total, Trivino recorded 40 or more assists in four times.
Juliao garnered Honorable Mention All-American after tallying 342 kills and recording a .202 hitting percentage. Juliao set a career-high with 21 kills in a 3-0 win at Eastern Arizona back on September 29 and had 20 matches of double-digit kills.
The sophomore from Brazil recorded six double-doubles in kills and digs, including a 12-kill and 10-dig performance in the Rocky Mountain A District Championship match.
