Bio
Javier Cecco joiuned the Arizona Western Women's Soccer coaching staff this summer (2026) as an assistant coach and Individual Development Plan (IDP) Coordinator. He will work closely with student-athletes on their technical, tactical, physical, and personal development while assisting with training sessions, recruiting, match preparation, and the daily operations of one of the nation's premier NJCAA Division I women's soccer programs.

Cecco's coaching career has provided him with experiences at the collegiate, pre-professional, and professional levels. Before joining Arizona Western, Cecco worked with the University of Arizona Women's Soccer program, where he gained valuable experience within a Big 12 environment. Javier traveled with the team throughout the season, competing against nationally recognized programs including Stanford in non-conference play, as well as Big 12 opponents such as TCU, Texas Tech, and BYU. Working within a top-tier Division I program gave Javier firsthand experience with elite facilities, high-performance resources, and the daily standards, professionalism, and attention to detail required to compete at the highest level of collegiate soccer.

Coach Cecco also worked with FC Tucson, where he was part of the club's historic USL League Two Western Conference Championship team and Final Four run. Javier's time with FC Tucson allowed him to gain valuable experience in player development, team operations, and the demands of a championship-caliber environment.

In addition, Coach Cecco spent multiple summers working alongside professional clubs during preseason camps, training periods, and exhibition matches, including Minnesota United FC (MLS), Louisville City FC (USL Championship), and Detroit City FC (USL Championship). These experiences allowed him to learn from professional coaches, players, and staff while gaining valuable insight into the culture, professionalism, and operational standards that define elite soccer organizations.

Originally from Mexico, Javier is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys working with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds. Cecco's coaching philosophy is centered on building meaningful relationships with players, creating a professional training environment, and helping each student-athlete maximize their potential on and off the field. Coach Cecco is passionate about preparing players for the next level and helping them earn opportunities to continue their academic and athletic careers at NCAA programs.

Javier is proud to be part of Arizona Western College and looks forward to helping our program continue its tradition of competing for conference and national championships while developing the next generation of successful student-athletes.
