For the third season in a row, the Arizona Western women's soccer coaching staff is named United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of Year.

"It's a staff reward so for me it's a reflection of the great staff we have here," Arizona Western women's head soccer coach Victor Verdugo said. "For me, I'm happy that the people that put the work in behind the scenes get some notoriety. The great people on the administrative side to the assistant coaches and team manager, everyone on campus that helps, this is a reflection of the efforts they put in."

Verdugo is assisted on the women's soccer coaching staff by Joel Ibarra and Kourtney Celaya. For the second year in a row, the Lady Matadors advanced to the NJCAA National Championship game. 

The award will be presented at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Philadelphia in mid-January, 2026.
