Three Lady Matadors named to All-Tournament team
ENID, Okla. - Following the conclusion of the NJCAA DI Women's soccer National Championship game between Daytona State and Arizona Western, individual and team awards were handed out. The Lady Matadors had three players named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts on the pitch during the national tournament. Midfielder Linka Ono, forward Momo Chogyogi and defender Kei Yoneda are three of the 12 members named to the All-Tournament team. Arizona Western dominated with stifling defense led by team captain Linka Ono. Captain Kei Yoneda scored Arizona Western's lone goal in a 1-0 semi-final win over Seminole State and also scored a goal in the opening game against Trinity Valley in pool play. Chogyogi scored the first goal of the game, which ended up being the game winning goal in Arizona Western's 6-0 win over Trinity Valley to begin the tournament. The three players along with the rest of the Lady Matadors did not allow a single goal in regulation or overtime throughout the entire tournament. The full list of the awards can be seen here.
