Three Matadors Women's Soccer sophomores sign with four-year schools
YUMA, Ariz. – Three Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer sophomores signed to continue their careers at the four-year level after leading the Matadors to a stretch of 24 wins and two NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship appearances.
Forward Yui Suetsugu signed to continue her career at the University of South Florida after leading the Matadors with 21 goals and recording 47 points in 20 games as a sophomore with the Matadors this past fall. Suetsugu was named the Region I DI Player of the Year and an NJCAA DI Women's Soccer First Team All-American. The University of South Florida is an NCAA DI institution located in Tampa, Fla.
Forward Loegan Alia signed to play at Southeastern Louisiana University next season after playing in 36 career games for the Matadors and was a member of two West District championship teams. The Las Vegas, Nev., native scored eight career goals and recorded nine assists in 36 career games. Southeastern Louisiana University is an NCAA DI institution located in Hammond, La., competing in the Southland Conference.
Defender Jezmin Castellanos will head to Canyon, Texas, to play for West Texas A&M University after playing in 30 career games for the Matadors over two seasons, scoring six goals and recording six assists. Castellanos recorded an assist in the Matadors' 2-0 win over Kansas City Kansas in the second game of pool play at the 2024 NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship. West Texas A&M University is an NCAA DII institution that competes in the Lone Star Conference.
The three Matadors join Leigha Dobbins in the year's sophomore class to sign with four-year schools after Dobbins signed with Arkansas State in December.
