YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 6 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer team (5-0, 3-0) pushed its season-opening winning streak to five games with a 3-0 win over No. 16 ranked Eastern Arizona at John Mickelson Stadium in Thatcher, Ariz., on Saturday evening.

The Matadors opened the scoring in the 19^th minute thanks to Diana Taddei who put a ball over the Eastern Arizona goalkeeper to the back post from outside the 18-yard box, giving the Matadors a 1-0 lead.

Kei Yoneda doubled the Matadors' lead to 2-0, heading a ball into the net off a corner kick to give the Matadors a 2-0 lead in the 24^th minute.

On the other side of the break, the Matadors added their third and final goal of the game in the 63^rd minute when Teddei scored her second of the game on a strike from just inside the box to extend the lead to 3-0.

Iyan Hernandez kept the Matadors' shutout streak alive, recording a clean sheet, and playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Matadors.

Arizona Western is back in action on Saturday, September 21, hosting No. 18 ranked Cochise at Matador Soccer Field at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
