ACCAC Player of the Year Martinez signs with Florida International

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Lady Matadors Women's Soccer sophomore Ashly Martinez has signed to continue her career at Florida International University after leading the Lady Matadors in goals in each of the last two seasons.

Martinez scored 25 goals in her sophomore campaign, the third most goals scored in a single season in program history. In total, Martinez scored 47 career goals, making her the program's all-time second-leading scorer.

Martinez helped the Lady Matadors to the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championships for the second time in program history in 2023, advancing to the semifinals.

The forward from Torreon, Mexico was a First Team NJCAA All-American this past fall in addition to being named ACCAC Player of the Year, leading the conference in scoring with 25 goals, second most in the nation.

Martinez was sixth in the country in points with 56 and scored the game-winning goal in the Region I title game, leading the Lady Matadors to a 2-1 win over Eastern Arizona.
