YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Women's Basketball freshman Naomy Zonzon-Huyghe signed to continue her career at UC-Irvine after leading the Matadors to their third-ever appearance at the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball championship.

Zonzon-Huyghe averaged 15.6 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per contest during her freshman season with the Matadors in 27 games for the ACCAC DI regular season champions.

The guard was named a NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Second Team All-American honoree following the season and scored a career-high 29 points in a 54-40 win over Eastern Arizona on January 15 and put together eight games of 20 or more points, including a stretch from December 11-January 4, scoring 22 or more points in four straight games.

Thanks to her performance during her freshman season, Zonzon-Huyghe was a First Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region Region I DI honoree and also earned ACCAC DI Player of the Week honors in February.

UC-Irvine is an NCAA DI institution located in Irvine, California, competing in the Big West Conference. The Anteaters won 21 games this past season and made it to the Bid West Conference Semifinals before falling to UC Davis.
