Women's Basketball sophomore Katembo signs with NAIA power LSU-Shreveport
YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Women's Basketball sophomore Fatima Katembo has signed to continue her career at the four-year level, signing to play at Louisiana State University-Shreveport.
Katembo played in 31 games this past season, making 29 starts for the Matadors. The forward from Kent, Wash., averaged 4.9 points per game and hauled in 4.3 rebounds per contest while averaging just under a block per game.
Katembo set a career-high with 14 points in a game against Midland back on November 10 and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in a win over Yavapai on February 3.
Louisiana State University Shreveport is an NAIA institution competing in the Red River Conference. The Pilots went 30-3 last season and made the second round of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament, losing to Mayville State.
