Women's Basketball season ends with 54-48 loss at Cochise

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Women's Basketball (21-9) saw its season come to an end on Tuesday evening in Douglas, Ariz., losing 54-48 to Cochise (27-4, 19-3) in the Region I semifinals at Stronghold Gymnasium.  

Rosa Revueltas finished the night as the Lady Matadors' leading scorer, scoring 13 points and hitting three three-pointers in the loss.

The Lady Matadors were outscored by one point in each of the first two-quarters of the game, trailing the Apaches 28-26 at the break. Lime Okada scored all seven of her points in the first half to help keep the Lady Matadors within reach of Cochise.

Arizona Western tied the game at 33 in the third quarter, but Cochise regained the lead and built their largest lead at 54-40 late in the first quarter. Arizona Western trimmed the lead down with an 8-0 run to end the game.

Alynna Palacios ended the game as the Lady Matadors' second-leading scorer, scoring 11 points in the loss.

The Lady Matadors finished the season with 21 wins, the 15th 20-win season in program history.
