Softball opens play Monday in NJCAA DI Softball World Series as No. 19 seed
The Arizona Western Matadors Softball team earned the No. 19 seed in the 2025 NJCAA DI Softball World Series, opening play on Monday, May 19, at 1:15 pm, taking on the No. 14 seed Southern Union State at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Softball team earned the No. 19 seed in the 2025 NJCAA DI Softball World Series, opening play on Monday, May 19, at 1:15 pm, taking on the No. 14 seed Southern Union State at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
The Matadors claimed the Region I and West District championships this past weekend at the Region I tournament in Thatcher, Ariz., punching their ticket to the NJCAA DI Softball World Series for the first time since 2019.
The winner of Monday's game between the Matadors and Bison will move on to play the No. 3 seed Northwest Florida State on Tuesday, while the loser of the game will move into the loser's bracket and play again on Tuesday as well in a double-elimination format.
Arizona Western and the City of Yuma are hosting the 2025 NJCAA DI Softball World Series from May 19-24 at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
Tickets at $12.00 for a day pass, while fans can purchase a tournament pass good for every game of the week for $60.00. Tickets can be purchased at awcmatadors.com or njcaa.org.
