YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western Lady Matadors Softball sophomore Jessie Garcia was named the ACCAC DI Pitcher of the Week thanks to a week that included a pair of complete game wins at the Great Western Shootout last weekend. 

Garcia struck out nine batters in 14 innings and led the Lady Matadors to a pair of wins at the Great Western Shootout. Garcia started the weekend by strikeout eight batters and allowed just four earned runs in a 7-5 win over Southern Nevada before holding the No. 12 ranked Salt Lake to one earned run in the Lady Matadors' 6-4 win over the Bruins.

In total this season, Garcia has struck out 11 batters in 24.2 innings and has now thrown three complete games, posting a 3-0 record.
