YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western Lady Matadors' Softball freshman Kaity McLaughlin was named the ACCAC DI Position Player of the Week for her part in the Lady Matadors' two wins at the Great Western Shootout.

McLaughlin went 4-for-9 with a double and an RBI in three games at the Great Western Shootout. The freshman outfielder had two hits, including a double, in the Lady Matadors' 7-5 win over Southern Nevada and also picked up a hit in a 6-4 win over No. 12 ranked Salt Lake.

The outfielder from Tucson, Ariz., has played in eight games during her freshman season and is batting .455 with three runs batted in.
