YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Softball sophomore Tinley Schmidgall recorded nine hits and helped the Lady Matadors to a pair of wins last week, earning ACCAC D1 Position Player of the Week for the week of March 19-25.

Schmidgall started the week by going 4-for-7 with two home runs and five runs batted in, in a Lady Matadors' split with Mesa on March 23. The former Gila Ridge Hawk went 2-for-3 with a pair of homers in game two.

The Yuma, Ariz., native followed that performance up with 5-for-8 series against Chandler-Gilbert, doubling and homering while driving in six runs.
