YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Softball team (1-8) put together its best offensive performance of the early season, scoring 12 runs in a 12-5 win over Snow on Saturday afternoon at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.

GiGi Garcia homered and doubled, driving in a season-high five runs to help the Lady Matadors pick their first win of the season.

Snow jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring a pair of runs in the first inning before the Lady Matadors batted nine times in the bottom of the first inning, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 6-2 lead, highlighted by a GiGi Garcia three-run home run.

After Snow cut the Lady Matadors' lead to 6-5 with three runs in the second inning, Garcia drove in two more runs, this time with a double, driving in Jessie Garcia and Mollie Forbes to push the lead to 8-5. The Lady Matadors added three more runs in the fifth inning, two of them coming on a Desiree Moran double.  

The Lady Matadors added their 12^th and final run of the game in the sixth inning on an Emily Gamboa single, putting the Lady Matadors up 12-5.
