Trio of Matadors Men's Soccer players sign with four-year schools
YUMA, Ariz. – A trio of Arizona Western Matadors Men's Soccer players have signed to continue their careers at the four-year level after leading the Matadors to the national semifinals this past fall.
Jesron Charles will continue his career at Mission University after playing in 13 career games with Arizona Western. Charles played in a career-best 11 games as a freshman last season and made two starts while recording an assist, helping the Matadors advance to the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Championship final. Mission University is an NCCAA DI institution located in Springfield, Mo.
Simon Curto Llorens moves on to play at Wingate University after anchoring the Matadors' backline this past fall, playing in 17 games, and making 13 starts. Llorens scored a pair of goals and recorded an assist while leading the Matadors to the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Championship semifinals. Wingate University is an NCAA DII institution located in Wingate, N.C. The Bulldogs compete in the South Atlantic Conference and made the NCAA DII National Tournament last season.
Blaine Watkins will continue his career at Northern Michigan University after playing in nine career games at Arizona Western. Watkins played in a career-high nine games as a sophomore in 2023 and made his first career start in a win over Imperial Valley on October 20. Northern Michigan University is an NCAA DII institution located in Marquette, Mich. The Wildcats compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
