YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball sophomore Edwin Suarez was selected to compete in the 2025 NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches All-Star Game in Las Vegas, Nev., on Saturday, May 17, at the Orleans Arena.

 Suarez was the 2024-25 ACCAC DI Player of the Year and NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Third Team All-American after leading the Matadors to a Region I Runner-Up finish in the 2024-25 season.

The forward from Reading, Pa., averaged 13.4 points per game and led the team in rebounds with 8.7 per game. Suarez was the leading rebounder in ACCAC DI Men's Basketball with 271 rebounds and led the conference in offensive boards with 106.

Suarez scored a career-high 25 points in a win over AZ Sol back on Nov. 12 and scored 20+ points in six games this season while grabbing double-digit rebounds in 11 games this season, hauling in a career-high 15 boards in a win over Southern Nevada on January 11 and 13 rebounds in loss to Eastern Arizona in the Region I Final.  

This will mark the third straight season Arizona Western has had an NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches All-Star Game selection as Suarez joins former teammate AJ Marmolejos and Yaxel Lendeborg as the last three Matadors players to earn the honor.

Rosters for the game will be determined through a draft conducted by the coaches, with results to be announced before the end of April.
