YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball freshman guard Jannoy Thomas was named Chapman Automotive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of January 14-20 after averaging 14 points per game in two games at Eastern Arizona.

Thomas scored 12 points and went a perfect 2-for-2 from the three-point line in the Matadors' 77-68 loss to Eastern Arizona on Friday before scoring 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting in 32 minutes in the overtime loss to the Gila Monsters on Saturday.

The Toronto, Ontario, Canada native went 3-for-3 from the three-point line and is now 7-for-8 in his last four games.
