Shindo explodes for 9 RBIs as Matadors power past CSN in road finale

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The No. 17 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Baseball team (37-11, 17-10 ACCAC) erupted for a 19-4 run-rule victory over the No. 11 College of Southern Nevada (35-10, 20-7) in a statement conference road win Saturday afternoon at Morse Stadium.

Both teams got on the board in the first inning, but the Matadors quickly seized momentum with a five-run second. Arizona Western pounced on Coyotes starter Tee Southisene, knocking him out after just two innings.

Ten Shindo delivered a career performance, launching a grand slam and another home run, adding a triple and finishing with nine RBI. Gerardo Castro and Luis Acosta also went deep, while Luis Angulo collected three hits and two RBI. Parker Husu reached base five times—including four walks—and scored four runs, fueling the Matadors' relentless attack.

Mattia Bernardis pitched five innings to notch his sixth win of the season, scattering eight hits and allowing four earned runs. Filippo Baldassarri finished the game with a perfect sixth, striking out two. Arizona Western's offense put the game away with a seven-run sixth inning, securing the run-rule victory and a crucial conference win.
