GAME ONE

Arizona Western wasted no time jumping ahead in the opening contest, pushing across two runs in the first inning. The Matadors received early contributions from the top of the order, including a double from Parker Husu and a timely hit by Ten Shindo, who would prove pivotal throughout the day. Yavapai responded with runs in the third and fourth, but Arizona Western maintained a narrow lead heading into the middle innings.

Momentum shifted in the fifth, as the Matadors extended their lead to 5-2 with a pair of runs. The sixth inning proved dramatic, with Yavapai erupting for four runs to tie the game at six. Shindo's home run and three RBI powered the offense, while Husu scored twice and reached base four times. Yavapai's [Aukai Araujo-Waiau] homered in the sixth, but the Matadors answered immediately. In the bottom of the seventh, Arizona Western loaded the bases and pushed across the decisive run to walk off 7-6 in front of the home crowd.

GAME TWO

The Matador pitching staff combined for nine strikeouts and did not commit an error, while the offense worked eight walks and tallied 10 hits for a relentless approach at the plate.

In the second game, Arizona Western's offense erupted after an early 1-1 tie. Shindo set the tone again, going 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI, including his second home run of the day and two stolen bases. The Matadors broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning and capped it with six more in the fifth, triggering the run rule at 14-1 after five innings. Elian Olmos added two hits and three RBI, Luis Angulo matched him with a 2-for-3, three-RBI effort, and Dan Kawanishi scored twice and stole a base as part of a five-steal team total.

Diego Alcala delivered a complete-game gem, holding Yavapai to just one hit while striking out six and not issuing a walk over five dominant innings. Arizona Western's defense again played error-free baseball and the offense capitalized on four Yavapai miscues, marking their 19th win this season when scoring 10 or more runs.
