Four Arizona Western Matadors Baseball players earn All-ACCAC and All-Region recognition
YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Baseball was well represented in the 2025 ACCAC and Region I postseason awards as four Matadors earned postseason honors as announced by the ACCAC on Tuesday afternoon.
Infielder Javier Diaz was named a First Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region performer following a season in which Diaz batted .364 with 22 doubles and five home runs while driving in 50 runs for the Matadors. The freshman drove in a season-high four runs in a win over California Miramar back on February 11 and had a season-best four hits against Yavapai on March 22.
Pitcher Lukas Pacal was named a First Team All-ACCAC and Second Team All-Region honoree, starting 14 games for the Matadors as a freshman and posting a 6-3 record with a 3.97 earned run average, striking out 64 batters in 77.0 innings of work. Pacal struck out a season-best eight batters in 7.0 innings against Eastern Arizona on March 21.
Infielder Bronson Neave was named a First Team All-ACCAC and Second Team All-Region performer after batting .365 with four home runs and 61 runs batted in for the Matadors this spring. Neave drove in a season-best four runs on three separate occasions, had a season-high four hits in a 12-4 win over Eastern Arizona on February 8.
Sophomore Nathan Houston earned Second Team All-ACCAC honors, playing in 55 games and batting .368 with 38 runs batted in. The Matadors' shortstop smacked 15 doubles and slugged three home runs, and stole 41 bases in 42 attempts. Houston drove in a season-high five runs and smashed two home runs in a 15-14 loss at Yavapai back on March 22.
