Arizona Western Baseball sees season end with 4-0 loss to Pima

YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western Baseball team saw its 2024 season come to an end on Friday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Pima in game two of the Region I semifinals best-of-three series at Aztec Baseball Field.

Robert Miranda had two of the Matadors' three hits while Bronson Neave finished the game 1-for-4 in the loss.

Pima opened the scoring in the fourth inning with a run and added another in the sixth inning, chasing Matadors' start Ismael Cordoba from the game, who allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out two in six innings.

The Aztecs added two insurance runs in the eighth inning to double the lead to 4-0. Brady Nelson and Carlos Uribe each tossed an inning in relief, each allowing a run in the loss.
