YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Baseball sophomore Wesley Estrella was named the Chapman Automotive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 5-11 after helping the Matadors to three wins last week.

Estrella picked up hits in all four games played last week and extended his hitting streak to 13 games after going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in the second game of a doubleheader with Scottsdale on Saturday afternoon.

The infielder from Santiago, Dominican Republic went 7-for-14 with a double and two runs batted in, scoring a pair of runs in the four games the Matadors played last week.

Estrella finished the week by recording three-straight two-hit games and went 4-for-9 in the two games against Scottsdale.
