Angela Oros signs with University of Bridgeport

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western College Lady Matadors’ softball player and Yuma, Ariz. native Angela Oros has signed to continue her softball career at the University of Bridgeport next year.

Oros appeared in 101 career games for the Matadors, finishing her time in the cardinal and gold batting a career-best .458 in her sophomore season in 2022, leading the team in home runs with 17 and batting in 57.

Robles and Oros names All-ACCAC

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' softball players Angela Oros and Christina Robles were both named third-team All-ACCAC.

Robles played in 50 games for the Lady Matadors this spring, batting .458 and led the team with 17 doubles and six triples, driving in 30 runs. The Yuma, Ariz. native led the team in stolen bases with 14 in 17 attempts.

Ibarra helps Lady Matadors finish season with split

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western College Lady Matadors finished the regular season with a doubleheader split with Mesa, losing game one 14-8 before taking game two 17-6.

Mesa opened the first game with back-to-back five-run innings, putting the Lady Matadors in a 10-2 hole through the first two innings.

Trailing 12-2 in the fourth the Lady Matadors scored four runs in the fourth inning highlighted by an Abigail Ibarra two-run homer and an Oros solo home run.

Lady Matadors' bats lead way to series split at Scottsdale

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors’ softball team (13-38, 8-34) split a doubleheader with Scottsdale (8-34, 6-34) losing game one 15-13 before taking game two 11-4 on Wednesday afternoon in Scottsdale.

The Lady Matadors rally fell short in game one, dropping a back-and-forth contest with the Fighting Artichokes, 15-13.
