    SB: Inside the Parker Earns Dramatic Win over Cetys

    YUMA, Ariz---Down to the final strike, the 9th ranked Arizona Western Matadors (4-2 overall) used an inside the park home run from Nicole Moran in the bottom of the seventh to upend Cetys Univeristy Thursday evening at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex in the opener of the Great Western Shootout.

    Walks and errors plagued the Matador's beginning as starter Anahi Grijalva allowed a couple of unearned runs while striking out ten in five and a third innings.

    MBB: Mats Slide versus Mesa

    YUMA, Ariz---Despite pulling within a shot of a defensive battle in the first half, the Arizona Western Matadors (14-10 overall, 8-8 ACCAC) fell 65-54 to the Mesa Thunderbirds (15-9 overall, 11-5 ACCAC) Wednesday night at The House.


    Missed opportunities stalled a strong start as the Mats shot 35% from the floor have now dropped five of their last six contests.

    WBB: 3rd Quarter Costly against Mesa

    YUMA, Ariz---A third quarter offensive lull proved costly in the Arizona Western Lady Matadors (12-12 overall, 7-9 ACCAC) 65-62 loss to the Mesa Thunderbirds (16-7 overall, 13-3 ACCAC) at the House Wednesday night.

    The Lady Matadors third straight loss began promising once again as Hanah Sims nailed a trio of first half three's to lead the Arizona Western offense.

    MBB: Matadors Can't Switch Momentum in Douglas


    DOUGLAS, Ariz---Despite a promising end to the first half, Arizona Western (14-9 overall, 8-7 ACCAC) could not slow down the Cochise Apaches (17-6 overall, 11-4 ACCAC) in a 76-66 loss Saturday at Cochise College.

    Cochise started red-hot before their leading scorer Najee Smith and primary ball-handler Damon Wall both picked up their second fouls.

    WBB: Lady Matadors Knocked Down in Douglas


    DOUGLAS, Ariz---Ten three's were not enough as the Arizona Western Lady Matadors (12-11 overall, 7-8 ACCAC) dropped an ACCAC bout against the Cochise Apaches (19-4 overall, 11-4 ACCAC) 66-55 at Cochise College.

    Michelle Corley and Buse Utku each knocked down three 3-pointers and the Matadors had a 14-5 lead with a minute left in the first quarter.

    BSB: #17 Matadors Drop Border Battle Final

    HENDERSON, Nevada---Two runs allowed in the first proved too much to overcome as the 17th ranked Arizona Western Matadors (5-2 overall) fell to #1 Central Arizona (6-0 overall) 8-1 in the Manny Guerra Border Battle Final Saturday afternoon at Morse Stadium.

    The Vaqueros scored twice against Matador starter Elvis Parra in the first inning to jump out to an early lead.

    HENDERSON, Nevada---After surrendering eight runs in an early morning loss, the #9 Arizona Western Matadors (3-2 overall) bounced back with an 8-0 shutout to wrap up the final day of the CSN Kick-off on Saturday.
