Da Silva tabbed as Honorable Mention All-American

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' women's basketball player Teresa Da Silva was named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American.

Da Silva finished the season as the Lady Matadors' second-leading scorer, averaging 11.9 points per game. Da Silva shot 35.9 percent from three, hitting 56 three-pointers for the season.

The sophomore guard scored a season-high 22 points at Pima on November 17 and finished the season with five games of 20 or more points.

Ndiba named NJCAA First-Team All-American

Women's Basketball | 03/29/2022

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College Lady Matadors' women's basketball player Alliance Ndiba was named First-Team NJCAA All-American.

Ndiba finished the season as the Lady Matadors' leading scorer, averaging 16 points per game while also leading the team with 11.9 rebounds per game and 3.0 blocks per contest.

Baseball moves up a spot in latest NJCAA Baseball poll

YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western College Matadors' baseball team jumped one spot in the latest NJCAA DI baseball poll, checking in at No. 11. 

The Matadors are coming off a series sweep of Paradise Valley, outscoring the Pumas 12-2 over the two games to extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Arizona Western improved their record to 33-5 and are 17-3 in the ACCAC, sitting in a tie with Central Arizona for first place.

Marcelo, Navarro help Matadors slug their way past the Pumas

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 12 ranked Arizona Western College Matadors (33-5, 17-3) swept a doubleheader with Paradise Valley (20-17, 8-12) 4-1 and 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at Walt Kammann Baseball Field.

Jorge Carvajal allowed just one run and struck out nine as Noah Marcelo gave the Matadors the lead for good with a three-run homer to give the Matadors a 4-1 win over the Pumas in game one.

Manzano powers Lady Matadors to game two win, earning split with Coyotes

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors (11-22, 6-18) split a pair of games against Chandler-Gilbert (13-13, 12-12) losing game one 7-6 in extra innings before winning game two 11-3 on Saturday afternoon at Charlie Dine Softball Field.  

Chandler-Gilbert scored three runs in the top of the seventh to send the game to extra innings before taking the opener 7-6 over the Lady Matadors.
