Matadors struggle against Yavapai

Volleyball | 10/29/2021

PRESCOTT, Arizona--- The Arizona Western College Matador Volleyball team (16-7 overall, 10-3 ACCAC) lost in 4 sets to the Yavapai Roughriders (14-12 overall, 8-5 ACCAC) on Friday.

The Lady Mats fell in the first two sets (18-25, 13-25), came back to win a third (25-17), and just narrowly lost the fourth (21-25).

The team struggled with their hitters most of the night, but worked in five aces and passed consistently throughout the match.

Matadors sweep Roughriders to seize Region Championship

YUMA, Ariz--- The #6 Arizona Western College Men’s Soccer team (18-0 overall, 9-0 ACCAC) added another win to their perfect record to earn the program’s third Region I Championship on Friday evening with a 2-0 triumph over Yavapai. Next, the Matadors will be moving to district play on Saturday, Nov. 6, to face off against the winner of the Region 18 game.

Lady Mats earn first ever Region I Championship

YUMA, Ariz--- The Arizona Western College Women’s Soccer team (11-4-2 overall, 5-3-2 ACCAC) overpowered Yavapai 9-0 on Friday night. The victory advances the Lady Mats to the upcoming district game next Saturday, Nov. 6, against the winner of the Region 18 game. The opponent, location, and time for this match are all to be determined.
