Matadors win Region I Championship

Volleyball | 11/03/2021

YUMA, Arizona--- The Arizona Western College Matador Volleyball team (17-7 overall, 10-3 ACCAC) clinched the NJCAA Division I Region I Championship in 5 sets against Yavapai College (14-13 overall, 8-5 ACCAC) on Wednesday night at the House.

The Lady Mats will now be advancing to compete in the District Championship at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The opponent and location for the match are still to be determined.

Matadors see another win on the road

Men's Basketball | 11/02/2021

REDLANDS, Calif.--- The Arizona Western College Men’s Basketball team (2-0 overall) defeated Community Christian College 91-65 on Tuesday night, picking up their second win of the season.

At halftime the Matadors were up by 11 points at 45-34, before closing the game out with a wider 26-point margin for a final score of 91-65. Marquis Hargrove led the team with 15 points for the night, followed by Malik Salahuddin who brought in 14 points.

Lady Mats overpower Community Christian in season opener

Women's Basketball | 11/02/2021

REDLANDS, Calif.--- The Arizona Western College Women’s Basketball team (1-0 overall) started off the season with an 80-31 win over Community Christian College on Tuesday evening.

Alliance Ndiba led the team making 21 points for the night and 12 rebounds. Christeina Bryan followed with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Isaacs' era begins with victory over Palo Verde

Men's Basketball | 11/01/2021

BLYTHE, Calif.--- Arizona Western College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Kyle Isaacs led the Matadors (1-0 overall) to their first win of the season on Monday evening with a 91-72 triumph over the Palo Verde College Pirates.

Mojus Mojus led the team during the first half scoring a total of 23 points, which helped the Matadors achieve a 17-point advantage at the end of the first half at 52-35.
