AWC Spirit Squad to Hold Cheerleading Tryouts all Next Week

Western College's Spirit Squad has announced that it will be conducting cheerleading tryouts April 17th through the 21st at 'The House'-AWC's gymnasium. The actual tryouts won't be held until Friday night, the 21st beginning at 6PM, but clinics will be held Monday through Thursday night from 6:30-8PM each night, and those wanting to try out are expected to attend the clinics. read more

Nurumbi, Woods, and Dawkins Named to Postseason Teams

Arizona Western College is proud to announce that Matadors' basketball players Engen Nurumbi, Phillip Woods, and Kenny Dawkins have been named to the All-ACCAC postseason teams, and Nurumbi and Woods were also given All-Region I Division I honors as well. The announcement was made after postseason conference meetings concluded in Phoenix this morning.

2 Crims' Stars Sign With Matadors

Arizona Western College is proud to announce that two Yuma High School football stars will suit up next season for the Matadors' football squad. Crims' senior fullback/linebacker John Matos and senior offensive & defensive lineman Zack Lemos have signed letters of intent to play football next year for the Matadors. Both student-athletes signed their letters of intent during halftime of the AWC men's basketball game Wednesday night.

Matadors Sign Two Local Stars for the Future of AWC Baseball

Arizona Western College is proud to announce that two of the Yuma area's top high school baseball stars in 2005 have signed letters of intent to play for John Stratton's Matador baseball team starting in 2007. Kofa High catcher Beau Bentley and Cibola High 3rd baseman/pitcher Jorge Molina each signed their letters of intent during halftime of AWC's men's basketball game this evening. read more
