Ibarra's big day not enough as Lady Matadors swept by South Mountain

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors (12-33, 7-29) were swept in a doubleheader by South Mountain (30-20, 21-17) 6-2 and 16-13 on Saturday afternoon at Charlie Dine Softball Field.

South Mountain scored the first six runs of the game and was able to fend off the Lady Matadors to take the opener 6-2.

Matadors swept by Roughriders in regular-season home finale

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 13 ranked Arizona Western (43-9, 27-7) were swept in a doubleheader by Yavapai (31-14-1, 19-11) 4-1 and 17-5 on Tuesday afternoon at Walt Kammann Baseball Field.

Arizona Western outhit Yavapi in game one but the Matadors could only score one run in a 4-1 loss in the opener.

Valenzuela and Oros have big day in doubleheader split with Gauchos

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Lady Matadors (12-31, 7-27) split a doubleheader with Glendale (16-22, 14-20) losing game one 6-4 before winning the second game 11-3 at Charlie Dine Softball Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Matadors let an early lead slip away in the opener as Glendale used a big top of the seventh inning to come from behind and take game one 6-4.

Lady Matadors beaten twice by Aztecs

YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western Lady Matadors (11-30, 6-26) were swept in a doubleheader by Pima () in Tucson on Saturday afternoon, losing game one 9-1 before falling in game two 9-4,

The Lady Matadors were held to just one run in game one of the doubleheader, losing the opener 9-1. Arizona Western opened the scoring with a run in the second inning but the Aztecs would score the next nine runs of the game.

Matadors swept in a doubleheader at Central Arizona

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 10 ranked Arizona Western Matadors (43-7, 27-5) were swept in a doubleheader by Central Arizona (41-8, 25-7) losing game one 3-2 in extra innings before falling in the second game 9-5 in Coolidge, Ariz.

The Matadors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game one when Reece Longstaff singled in a pair to open the scoring.
