Lady Matadors Draw with Pima

YUMA, Ariz---Facing a familiar shorthanded situation, the Arizona Western Matadors found the net in the 65th minute on Diana Sanchez's strike, eventually forcing a draw with the Pima Aztecs Thursday evening on the Matador Soccer Field.

The Matadors missed some early chances after controlling the possession for the opening ten minutes.

Pima capitalized on their only opportunity in the first half, as the ball trickled in front of the goal for Seti Valencia to tap in.

Kyle Isaacs Named Men's Basketball Head Coach

YUMA, Ariz. – Longtime Matador Assistant Kyle Isaacs has been named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Arizona Western College.

Isaacs has spent twelve years in Yuma as an assistant first under Kelly Green and then returning on the bench for the past decade next to Charles Harral.

Harral Resigns as Matador Basketball Head Coach

YUMA, Ariz. – After 10 seasons that resulted in 216 wins, Men’s Basketball Head Coach Charles Harral is resigning his position to pursue other opportunities, effective June 3rd, 2021.

He will announce his future plans at a later date.

Harral’s resume in Yuma includes 4 Region I Championships, an ACCAC title, and an NJCAA National Tournament appearance.

Shutouts For and Against in Split at Pima

TUCSON, Ariz---The overcast, rainy day proved ominous for offenses as the Arizona Western Matadors (29-13 overall, 21-11 ACCAC) shutout the Pima Aztecs (36-10 overall, 27-9 ACCAC) before being held scoreless in a split Tuesday afternoon.

Bobby Vath continued to roll on the mound and was armed with Delano Selassa's early RBI knock, allowing him to settle in, cruising to the 5-0 win.
