Women's soccer climbs to No. 15 in NJCAA poll

YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors women's soccer team moved up a spot to No. 15 in the latest NJCAA DI Women's Soccer poll.

The Lady Matadors picked up a pair of wins over the last week, beating the No. 1 ranked team in NJCAA DII the Phoenix Bears, 2-1, in overtime on Tuesday night in downtown Phoenix thanks to a 93rd-minute goal from Ashley Martinez.

Clark scores four goals as Lady Matadors tame Coyotes, 7-1

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 16 ranked Arizona Western Lady Matadors women’s soccer team (7-0, 5-0) continued their perfect start to the season, beating Chandler-Gilbert (4-5, 1-4) 7-1 on Saturday evening in Chandler, Ariz.

Sophomore Victoria Clark scored four of the Lady Matadors' seven goals, including the first three goals the Lady Matadors scored.

Hormigos, Ortner each score twice in 8-0 win over Coyotes

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 8 ranked Arizona Western Matadors men’s soccer team (9-1, 5-0) won their eighth straight game, beating Chandler-Gilbert (2-7, 0-5) 8-0 on Saturday afternoon in Chandler, Ariz.

The Matadors used a five-goal first half to run away from the Coyotes early, opening the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to a Terry Makedika goal, his sixth of the season, putting the Matadors in front 1-0.
