Matadors' defense smothers Cardinals in 65-29 win

YUMA, AZ - The Arizona Western Matadors (7-1) held North Idaho (2-2) to 29 points in a 65-29 win over the Cardinals on Friday evening at the House. 

The Matadors' defense played its best half of the season in the first half, allowing only two points in the second quarter, leading 37-11 at the break.

Matadors win fourth straight, beating Community Christian 85-60

YUMA, AZ - The Arizona Western Matadors (7-2) won their fourth consecutive game, beating Community Christian (0-7) 85-60 on Tuesday night.

Yaxel Lendeborg and Nate Duda each had a double-double, combining for 26 points and 21 rebounds. Lendeborg recorded his fourth double-double, leading the team with 16 points while grabbing 10 rebounds while Duda scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win.

Ayson helps Matadors to 70-40 win over Copper Mountain

Women's Basketball | 11/23/2021

YUMA, AZ - The Arizona Western Matadors (6-1) defeated Copper Mountain (3-4) 70-40 on Tuesday night at the Bell Center in Joshua Tree, Calif. 

The Matadors got off to a strong start, outscoring the Fighting Cacti 20-7 in the first quarter as Alliance Ndiba scored eight of her 18 points in the first quarter.

Kristol Ayson led all scorers, scoring a career-high 20 points, scoring eight of those points in the final quarter.
