COOLIDGE, Ariz---After falling behind early, the Arizona Western Lady Matadors (3-7 overall, 3-4 ACCAC) could not catch up to the #11 Central Arizona Vaqueras Thursday night at Central Arizona College.
The Matadors cold shooting in the first quarter combined with Central's persistent attack at the basket made it 15-5 at the end of the first quarter.

Matadors Drop Home Opener to YC in Four Sets

YUMA, Ariz---A messy start gave way to an error filled finish as the Arizona Western Lady Matadors (3-7 overall, 1-1 ACCAC) fell in four sets to Yavapai College (2-4 overall, 2-0 ACCAC) in their home opener Wednesday night.
Double-digit service errors stopped most of the offensive rhythm the Matadors found Wednesday night.

MBB: #18 Mats Comeback Bid Falls Short

DOUGLAS, Ariz. – Down by 13 at the half and 21 midway through the second period proved too much for #18 Arizona Western (7-2 overall, 6-2 ACCAC) to overcome in Saturday’s 82-72 road loss to the Cochise Apaches (3-2 overall, 3-1 ACCAC).
The Apaches jumped on Arizona Western from the start, smothering the Matador shooters and the glass en route to a 42-29 lead at the break.

Long Ball Decisive in Mats 10 Inning Win over Southern Idaho

HENDERSON, Nev—While it wasn’t the win they thought they had in the ninth inning, the long ball proved decisive in the Arizona Western Matadors (8-2 overall) 9-7 win over Southern Idaho in ten innings at the Manny Guerra Border Battle Saturday afternoon at the College of Southern Nevada.
Getting out of big spots was key for Arizona Western in the early innings as Southern Idaho’s late rally forced extra innings in Henderson.
But the long ball proved invaluable.
