Biography:

Kenny Dale's extensive tenure as the Head Coach of Arizona Western Soccer added a number of milestones during the 2019 season. His 15th season as the Men's Coach started with his 200th win while guiding the program. That was just the start, as under Dale’s guidance, the Matadors extended their consecutive playoff streak to 12 seasons while entering as the fourth seed in the Region. The Matadors earned a home win over Paradise Valley in the opening round before hitting the road the rest of the way. And the Matadors hit hard, knocking off the conference champion Phoenix Bears in overtime with an incredible two-goal comeback to force extra time in the first place. The Matadors then went toe-to-toe with the defending National Champion Pima Aztecs in Tucson where the Matadors emerged victorious in penalty kicks to win the Region for the second time in program history. Things did not get easier for the Matadors as they traveled to Salt Lake City for the District Championship, squaring off with the 3rd ranked Salt Lake City Bruins. Arizona Western jumped out in front 3-0 and closed the game out despite being down two players to seal the first District Championship in program history and earn a bid to the NJCAA National Championship in Tyler, Texas. Under Dale, the Matadors secured their first Region I Championship in 2010 with a win over conference foe Pima, while also taking in the program’s first ACCAC title. Two years later, in 2012, the Matadors set a new mark for wins in a season with 19 in order to help earn ACCAC Coach of the Year honors for Dale. Dale added the West District Coach of the Year Award to his trophy case in 2019.. Since taking the reins of Arizona Western Soccer in 2005, Kenny Dale has continued to push the Matadors to new heights. The program’s first conference title under Dale arrived in 2010 and the Mats earned the Region I Championship that season by defeated Pima. In 2015, the Matador’s 17 wins included a 12-game winning streak and a 15-game unbeaten streak to secure a share of the ACCAC title. Dale has also been a Pioneer at Arizona Western, launching the AWC Women’s Soccer in 2013 while maintaining successful leadership of the Men's Soccer team as its head coach. He helped lead the Lady Mats to the playoffs for two straight seasons while still extending the Men's tradition of winning and reaching the post-season. Dale has worked with college-level soccer athletes every season since 1988, and is now in his third decade of college head coaching experience. Dale earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Arizona.
