A former Matador returned to the Matador Men's Soccer program and joined Kenny Dale's staff in August 2021.
Prior to enrolling at AWC as an international student-athlete in the fall of 2015, Fabian Munoz Valencia played most of his youth career in Santa Fe C.D., one of the biggest clubs in his hometown of Bogota, Colombia. He was recruited by the AWC Men's Soccer coaching staff and became a key member of the conference championship team in 2015 in addition to reaching the semifinal stage of the NJCAA Region 1 tournament in 2016.
After graduating from AWC in 2017 with his associate's degree in Business, he competed for Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, Arizona where he contributed to the first conference tournament championship in ACU Men's Soccer history in 2018. Munoz graduated from Arizona Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Summa Cum Laude in 2019.
Fabian then started his college coaching career in 2019, moving to Ottawa, Kansas, and performing the role of Graduate Assistant Coach during two seasons at Ottawa University while working towards an MBA. He graduated in 2021 with a master's degree in Business Administration and leadership Development.
Munoz joined Dale's staff for the successful 2021 season where the team reached the NJCAA national tournament final for the very first time in program history.
His current role as an assistant coach involves duties at all levels of the program, including recruiting, session planning, fundraising, and tactical analysis for student-athletes.
