YUMA, Ariz. – Hot shooting and suffocating defense eased the Matadors back home to a 94-53 route of Chandler-Gilbert Saturday night.
The Matadors hit 15 of their 30 three’s to continue to improve their conference best three-point percentage while forcing 24 Coyote turnovers in a retribution win over Chandler-Gilbert, recovering from a three-point loss to the Coyotes before Christmas.
Alfonso Plummer nailed eight three-pointers and finished with a game high 28 points. Cash Williams added 18 and Bryson Langdon provided 16.
The Mats got 22 points off the bench as well while creating 34 points off of the Coyote turnovers.
The Matadors shot 53% from the field while holding Chandler Gilbert to just 16 of 59.
Arizona Western has now won nine of their last twelve games and remain three games back of Cochise atop the ACCAC standings.
They will host South Mountain Wednesday night beginning at 7:30pm.
