YUMA, Ariz. – Bryson Langdon torched the nets from start to finish and the rest of the Mats followed suit in a 115-83 victory over Tohono O’odham Saturday.
Langdon connected on seven of eight three-pointers and finished with a game, a personal best, 33 points. Cash Williams, Alfonso Plummer, and Andre Allen each added 17 points.
The Mats (16-5, 9-3 ACCAC) exchanged blows for much of the first half with the Jegos (2-19, 1-12 ACCAC) as both teams shot over 50% on double-digit three point attempts in the first half. But the Matadors built a 13 point half time lead and overwhelmed the Jegos in the second half.
Langdon could hardly miss all game finishing 12 of 14 from the field, and making both of his free-throw attempts.
Arizona Western also picked up the defense effort plummeting the Jegos to just 2 of 16 from three in the second, more in line with the Mats’ conference best three-point defense.
Allen snagged a game high 12 rebounds to complete his double-double.
The Matadors begin a daunting three game road-trip on Wednesday at Pima. The game will be broadcasted on AM 560 KBLU beginning with the Women’s pre-game at 5:20pm.
