YUMA, Ariz. – Shooting travels, and former Matador shooting guard Ron Lee Jr. signed a professional contract this week to continue his playing career in Spain. Lee is headed to ADB Pas, known as Pas Pielagos, a team in the Spanish Liga EBA that is based in Cantabria Spain.
Lee wrapped up an outstanding two-year career at Central Methodist University this past spring and was named an NAIA Third Team All-American. He led his team in scoring (21.7) points per game while also leading the team with 47 steals in 31 games. He also hit 41.5 percent of his three-pointers and made 81 three’s.
During his time at CMU, he scored more than 1,200 points and averaged four rebounds per game while knocking down 39.9 percent of his three-pointers.
At Arizona Western, Lee made 152 triples over the course of two seasons. He helped lead the Matadors to the Region I Playoffs and knocked down big shots both years. Lee averaged in double figures both seasons on his way to putting up 745 points at AWC.
Arizona Western College is one of the top community colleges in Arizona. The college boasts partnerships with all three state universities that include face-to-face classes in Yuma. AWC leads the state in enrollment growth over the past 10 years and handed out more than 2,300 certificates and degrees in 2016-17.
