Matador Basketball Camp June 7-10

Its the return of the Matador Basketball Camp!

June 7th-10th from 9am-12pm, Monday-Thursday, Boys and Girls in K-12 are invited to come out to "The House", the Gym at Arizona Western College to learn basketball fundamentals such as footwork, ball handling, shooting form, defense, and rebounding straight from the Matador Men's and Women's Basketball Coaching Staffs.

Participants should wear Basketball attire (t-shirt, athletic shorts, and tennis/basketball shoes).

Kyle Isaacs Named Men's Basketball Head Coach

YUMA, Ariz. – Longtime Matador Assistant Kyle Isaacs has been named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Arizona Western College.

Isaacs has spent twelve years in Yuma as an assistant first under Kelly Green and then returning on the bench for the past decade next to Charles Harral.

Harral Resigns as Matador Basketball Head Coach

YUMA, Ariz. – After 10 seasons that resulted in 216 wins, Men’s Basketball Head Coach Charles Harral is resigning his position to pursue other opportunities, effective June 3rd, 2021.

He will announce his future plans at a later date.

Harral’s resume in Yuma includes 4 Region I Championships, an ACCAC title, and an NJCAA National Tournament appearance.

Matadors fall in Region I Final at Cochise

DOUGLAS, Ariz-A lopsided second half ended up putting the end to the Arizona Western Matadors (11-3 overall) Region I Championship bid as they fell 83-62 to the Cochise Apaches (11-2 overall) Saturday afternoon in the Region I Final.

The Matadors hung tight in the opening half and slowly slid behind Cochise, in what was mostly a 1 and 2 point difference for much of the period, to a five point hole at the half.

Matadors Use 3's to Defeat Central, Advance to Region I Final

YUMA, Ariz---After nearly a month removed from there last competitive game, the #22 Arizona Western Matadors (11-2 overall) looked rested and refreshed, using a deep attack-both from long range and the bench-to eliminate the Central Arizona Vaqueros (3-10 overall) from postseason and advance to the Region I Final.
