YUMA, AZ - The Arizona Western Matadors men's basketball team is holding a summer basketball camp for boys and girls grades k-12, June 6-9.
The camp will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm each day and will teach basketball fundamentals such as footwork, ball handling, shooting form, defense, and rebounding straight from the Matadors' basketball coaching staff.
Participants should wear Basketball attire (t-shirt, athletic shorts, and tennis/basketball shoes).read more

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western College Matadors’ men’s basketball player Najeeb Muhammad has signed to play at Lubbock Christian University next season.
Muhammad played in 38 career games for the Matadors, starting 35 while averaging 11.4 points per game while wearing the cardinal and gold. The guard from Las Vegas, Nev. scored a career-high 26 points in a win over Central Arizona on April 7, 2021.read more

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western Matadors men's basketball player Yaxel Lendeborg was named NJCAA Third Team All-American on Wednesday morning.
Lendeborg played in 31 games for the Matadors, averaging 12.0 points per game, and led the Matadors with 11.0 rebounds per game.
The freshman forward finished third in the ACCAC in field goal percentage, shooting 61.5 percent from the field while also leading the conference in offensive rebounds with 138 and total rebounds with 341.read more

YUMA, AZ – The Arizona Western Matadors (26-5) dropped the Region I championship game in overtime to Cochise on Monday night at the House.
Yaxel Lendeborg led the Matadors in scoring with 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
After the Matadors tied the game at 11-11, Cochise would go on a 6-0 run to take their largest lead of the first half at 17-11 before Nate Duda halted the run with a layup to cut the deficit to 17-13.read more

YUMA, AZ – The Arizona Western College Matadors (26-4) punched their ticket to the Region I title game, beating Eastern Arizona (12-18) 85-56 on Saturday night at the House Gymnasium.
Marquis Hargrove made his third career start on Saturday night and scored a career-high 22 points to help the Matadors advance to the Region I championship game.read more
