YUMA, Ariz. – For the second straight week, Jadon Hayes racked up huge rushing numbers for the Arizona Western College football team. And for the second straight week, Hayes was named the WSFL Offensive Player of the Week.

On Saturday, Hays piled up 140 rushing yards on 20 carries in a 37-19 win over Scottsdale. The freshman scored an 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter as AWC turned a 10-7 deficit into a 28-10 lead. After halftime, Hayes helped Arizona Western salt away the game by carrying the ball 15 times for 105 yards.

Hayes has 300 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries in the last two weeks, both Matador wins. He leads the team with 377 yards on 50 carries, and he has four rushing touchdowns.

Last week, Hayes was named the WSFL Offensive Player of the Week after ripping off 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns at Glendale.

AWC (4-2 overall, 2-1 WSFL) hosts Phoenix College on Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $5 for adults and $3 for seniors/military. Kids 12 and under and AWC students and staff get in FREE!!
