Opening Weekend

YUMA, Ariz. – No easy openings for the fall sports at Arizona Western College. The teams all jump right into the regular season with a bang. Tickets for all home events are only $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and military members. Children 12 and under and AWC students and staff get in for FREE!!

Tonight, Matador soccer hosts Pima with the Matador men taking the field first against the fourth-ranked Aztecs at 4:30 p.m. The 15th ranked Lady Mats close out the evening at 7:00 p.m. against the team they nipped in double overtime in the Region I semifinals last season. On Friday, the third-ranked Matador football team takes on New Mexico Military Institute at 7:00 p.m. at Yuma Catholic. The two are former conference foes that haven’t played since the 2015 season. Can’t be at the game? Stream it here on the Matador livestream.

Lady Matador volleyball opens up on the road on Friday with a trip to Scottsdale Community College. The team’s first match is at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, the soccer teams travel out to Phoenix to take on GateWay Community College. The men take the field first at 4:30, and the women play at 7:00 p.m.
