Matadors honored by NJCAA for academic success

YUMA, Ariz. - The National Junior College Athletic Association announced the 2022 academic student-athlete awards on Monday, featuring 47 Arizona Western student-athletes and six Arizona Western teams. 

Men's soccer finished with the fourth-highest GPA among men's soccer programs, ending the academic year with a 3.5 GPA, the highest in the ACCAC. 

Volleyball saw its 3.37 GPA finish 21st among NJCAA volleyball programs while softball, baseball, women's basketball, and women's soccer were also named NJCAA All-Academic teams. 

47 student-athletes were named NJCAA All-Academic, including 13 All-Academic First Team honorees who achieved a 4.0 GPA:
