Navarro to continue collegiate career at Long Island
YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College Matadors' baseball player JC Navarro has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and baseball career at Long Island University.
Navarro played in 135 career games at Arizona Western, posting a .351 career batting average over three seasons. The Sahuarita, Ariz. native smacked 14 career home runs and drove in 108 runs.
The first basement put together a career year as a sophomore in 2022, batting a career-best .379 in 58 games while setting a career-high in doubles with 17, homers with 11, and runs batted in with 51.
This past spring, Navarro put together a pair of multi-homer games, hitting two home runs in an 11-4 win over Northeastern on February 5, and doing so again in a 14-6 win at Mesa on March 30.
Long Island University is an NCAA DI institution located in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Sharks compete in the Northeast Conference.
