YUMA, Ariz---Chris Koeiman anchored the Arizona Western Matador rotation all season and was rewarded by the NJCAA Tuesday with a place on the All-American Honorable Mention Team.
Koeiman led the Matadors with a 12-2 record while posting a miniscule 1.44 ERA in his Sophomore season. Koeiman logged 94 innings and struck out 84 over that frame, allowing just 15 earned runs.
The Matador Ace, from Willemstead, Curacao completes his time at AWC having struck out 185 batters in 175 innings. He pitched in 33 games over two seasons, starting 32 while tossing 12 complete games.
In addition to the All-American Honors, Koeiman also was recognized by the conference as a 1st Team All-ACCAC Selection.
